New classes start in Sept 2016

Artist’s Way Experiential introduction class FREE
Monday August 29 6-8 pm 
We will discuss the 12-week class that is based on Julia Cameron’s book. There will be an hour-long
art project you will complete at this free class showing how the art activities
you’ll do each week add to your experience.

The Artist’s Way Experiential

Everyone has some kind of creativity to express, and everyone can learn how to express it!
It just takes courage, a willingness to start, and a group of dedicated explorers to share your journey.
Using the classic creativity curriculum, “The Artist’s Way,” by Julia Cameron, well-known artist
Deborah Foutch will take you through a weekly series of readings, exercises,
assignments and projects that will support what you are learning and open new horizons
for your boundless creativity.

Class meets every Monday night from 6-8 pm for 12 weeks. Students purchase “The Artist’s Way” and
will read a chapter before each class. Class consists of a “check-in” project
— really just playing with materials – then discussion of the week’s reading and exercises.
One hour is left to complete another project that is related to the theme of the week.
By the end of class, you will have an active creative practice, several finished art pieces to display,
as well as a handmade book containing your check-in projects.
All materials are provided except the book. Fee: $275 for 12 weeks, includes free Intro Session.

Class meets Monday, September 12 through Monday, December 5.

Surface Design series Starts October 5
Surface Design 1
  Wednesdays October 6 – 26, 6-8 pm
This is a sampler class, where you will learn how to use the parts created in each session in a composition.
Or let your hand and eye explore and keep the best as a sampler of techniques and surfaces to
refer to as you compose your future pieces. Wet into wet painting and surface embellishment
techniques including print-making and rusting, on cotton, canvas, papers,
and organza will create a pile of usable fiber pieces by the end of night 4.
You can use your created elements to create finished art pieces in series 2.

$140 for this 4 week course. Materials list provided.

Surface Design 2 Saturdays October 8 – 29, 1-3 pm

In this class you will learn how to produce finished artwork from the fiber elements
you created in Surface Design 1. We will review layering, substrates, glues, assemblage, and finishing.

Artist’s Way Refresher Last Saturday of each month starting September 24, 10-12 pm

Get together with other Artist’s Way alums to recharge your artistic batteries!
Check in, share your journey, create a project that stimulates your creativity!

Framing Lessons: I have been a picture framer for more than 30 years Let me share my skills with you.

Matting, mounting, glazing, wood and metal frames built and fit.

Walk through 2 projects as you learn. Saturday mornings 2 weekends monthly. 12- 3 pm

Week 1 : Mat, mount, glazing   Week2 : build, fit, & finish

1 to 1 lesson $40/hr.  OR  Are you willing to be paired?

You each pay $30 /hr. bring your partner or I can pair you.

Matting, mounting, and glazing materials for 2 projects 16 x20 or smaller included.

You choose and buy your frame stock.
